Sometimes they say there are some things that you should do once in your life. For a musician that is recording a complete CD. But who knew we had to travel to France with the whole band? FRANK WINTER has an amateur band in the Rotterdam area with, according to him, professional pretensions. Our band C-Pep suggested the idea of making a CD a long time ago. The idea was to record a few self written songs along with some cover songs so that we could use this CD as a demo. | |
One day, the drummer came to us to show us an advertisement for studio time in France. Of course our reaction was very enthusiastic. You know, combining business with pleasure. Make a CD, have a little vacation, lets do some music and all with a nice wine. The advertisement was from Revolution Studio in Normandy. A band could use the studio, including 40 hours recording, use of microphones, etc., plus 7 nights bed and breakfast AND lunch. This all in an old Norman house owned by Mr Scott Thomas. The accommodation had three rooms for six people in three twin bedded rooms, which was enough for our band. The band is a group of six persons, including one (female) singer. You understand: before we left there was a real battle as to who was allowed to sleep with her... Scott offered us the opportunity to rent a little house with extra bedrooms, a Gîte. | ![]() |
